    Nice, even better if the strings were in tune… Regarding cases, Hoffee and Hiscox made such cases, but they will cost you more than the guitar. Regarding strings, there are actually TONS of options I use Labella for baritone and they are great.

    Just so you know... there are pre-War Martin Hawaiian guitars left unmolested. I have one. It belonged to my father's cousin who went to Europe in 43 and didn't come back. I ended up with it when his father died. It has what you might call, " Very low miles." 1937 017-H. Serial number 66564. In the original crappy case.

    I own an Alvarez model no. 5022 21-5-75 it is my go to guitar I bought it at a pawn shop in Union City TN. My son and I hit all the pawn shops within 100 mile radius just to check out what cool stuff we can find I usually buy to keep the guitars kinda speak to me in a special way or I don't buy them. I love to find older guitars that haven't been taken great care of and making them great again or to their best greatness you never know what's out there I also owe 100 dollars on a Gibson L-7 or L-5 arch top 1947 or 1949 model I have given the guy 200 down on it he wants 3 I'm hoping to get that paid this next week and get the guitar from him but I love my Alvarez 1975 model it has a good sound the neck is a little small with nut being a little tight with closeness of strings making it hard to play but I really like it I believe Alvarez to be especially for the money one of the best out there I played their 150th anniversary guitars it sounded amazing to me I had money down on it right when covid hit at a pawn shop had to let it go because of my work was slowing down I paint for a living covid hurt me badly as it did everyone but I survived

    20 yrs. back my friend and his co-worker walked into Guitar Center Hollywood on their lunch break. My friend picked up a guitar and started playing. His friend stopped what he was looking at and said, " Wow that sounds different", he did not play guitar. I went back the following weekend with him and when I saw the guitar and Schoenberg on the headstock I knew why it sounded and played amazing. I read an article regarding the Martin/ Schoenberg Martins and yes, it looked and sounding amazing, they wanted $8,000 for it used. I later found the shop in Northern California and e-mailed Eric and told him the story. He was very thankful for the praise and could not be believe the mark up, because he said his price was $4 to %5,000 ish for a new one, not sure now.

    An EQ pedal is a cheap and significant improvement to your guitar sound. I would always recommend trying that before changing pickups. A small change with an EQ pedal will make big difference.

    Each guitar even with the exact same specs also has its own unique sound, and dont be put off by model series. If at all possible get into the shops, close your eyes when testing the guitars and maybe even come back another day and test theem again. I ended up with a ce which suited me perfectly for my style and haven't looked back since. Personally I think Taylor are excellent guitars.

    Hi Jeremy: I love the sound of Larrivee guitar, almost 20 years ago I first heard a canadian Larrivee L-09, and I was in shock about the tone, deep and warm, I always wanted to have one, now saving money to travel to USA and buy one, hopefully D-10. As you said that tone is the result of great wood quality. Love your channel!! congrats and greetings from Chile, South America.

    Honestly I'm not impressed. It's good enough but I can get the same results with an undersaddle with EQ.

  • @Mr.Goldbar
    @Mr.Goldbar 4 дні тому

    I'd rank them like this. 1. the Stage Pro Anthem on the Furch. Might be one of my favorite systems currently, sounds great and is super versatile. There's eq controls on the thing so there's no justification to complain about lack of high end :) 2. the ES2 on the Taylor. The perfect allarounder in my opinion. Enough controls, the Piezo technology is reliable but it sounds much livelier than other Piezos because of the way it's installed. I'd highly recommend it for someone who doesn't wanna fuss around and just want a good sounding yet simple system. 3. the Lyric on that Huss & Dalton. It's a microphone so it's obviously the most realistic sounding, and it's a good addition to an undersaddle or magnetic system, but would not necessarily trust it as the lone system for live use on a big stage. I did try it on a friend of mine's guitar through a relatively loud PA and it was indeed really nice with no feedback! I do wish it had EQ controls, I wish there was a Stage Pro version of this but I'd get away with just that tiny presence control. this (and the Stage Pro Anthem) are the only systems that I'd say can actually replace the practice of micing the guitar in the studio, with good enough processing. the K&K on the Waterloo. A good allarounder like the Taylor, sounds slightly livelier than it but at the expense of reliability for live use. I have experienced this pickup on an oud nontheless and it sounded incredible and lively! I do think it needs some controls, at least you can pair it with an active preamp from K&K. It is great though for players who have already built their acoustic rig, especially as an addition to another more reliable system but not only. 5. the Prefix on the J185. If we have to stick with just an undersaddle Piezo it might aswell have more controls and more ways to shape it to add the right frequencies you'd associate with an acoustic guitar. Might not be the most realistic, but can definitely hold its own and is very reliable for live use. 6. A tie between the the Sonitone on the Guild Baritone the the Element VTC on the Sheeran. Both are the only systems that get a thumbs down from me. Both don't sound good on their own and are very limited in what they can do, no tweakability. Would recommend staying away from these two systems unless you already built your acoustic rig or plan to add one of the non Piezo systems above. the Stage Pro version of the Element has much more control and is much better because of that, and the Fishman Matrix has the same amount of controls like the Sonitone but much smarter controls (as the tone knob is not a low pass filter but a treble and bass expander). Also, can't judge the Acoustasonic compared to them because of the clipping and the fact it's quite a different beast, I wouldn't even want it to sound "realistic", from what I've heard it's as reliable as the guitar itself.

    I got the tone master when it came out and here's my takeaway: Ive gigged with it several times and while I love the weight, attenuation, and DI, I wasn't a huge fan of its natural overdrive. Compared to even a RI, it lacks the warmth, punchiness, and articulation. Maybe it's just my ears. But if that matters to you that's a huge deal. You could just supplement that by using an OD pedal which I do most times but the breakup is still not the same. Also I don't feel like the spring reverb is very natural. Most spring reverbs ive used are inconsistent and have this spongy sound, which is why I love them. Theyre usually very responsive to your playing and can sound strange and wonky sometimes, and I love that. The tone master however is very consistent and digital. Sounds too much like short delay, if that makes sense. And lastly it's not enough wattage for me. I know that's not the deluxes fault but when I asked ppl about this amp they said it'd be enough for a loud band. Well maybe my bands have been louder cuz it's not enough. I usually use a clean tone and add dirt from my pedals but anything past 3.5-4, you're adding some hair. At home it's great and more than enough but with a loud band you may be struggling. Good thing it has the DI! Maybe I need a twin instead. But it won't be another tone master until the overdrive and reverb are somewhat improved .

    • @KRUSTYskates
      @KRUSTYskates 6 днів тому

      and yes I did the initial firmware update for the bright cap and reverb as soon as I got it. It made pedals easier to take especially ODs and gave the reverb knob more range.

    I bought one as soon as they came out on the market, and as an impulse buy at that. I play it so often, because of the tone it has. It did require a lot of set-up, but the finish was perfect...except the over spray all over the frets. The price is way worth the tone you get from this guitar and the rolled fret board edges are nothing to sneeze at. The HUGE problem is the Pau Ferro fret board. Way back, I had to buy the maple fret board version. Which, at the time of my purchase was a compromise for me as compared to what I really wanted. I would ONLY by another one if it came with dark rosewood, or ebony wood used on the fret board, even with any additional cost. Otherwise, I am done with it, and I will keep and love the only one I have. Inspiration is worth a million dollars, whatever it may be that does it or brings it to you.
